Stilettos & Steel Fitness is a pole, aerial and dance fitness studio in Lansing, MI designed specifically with women in mind. We strive to bring you a safe & supportive environment full of students challenging themselves to be better and stronger.

By providing you with certified instructors and a serene environment, we aim to reshape your body AND your mind. Offering an uplifting atmosphere where women can develop strength and discover themselves, we encourage you to embrace your body and explore yourself, in a judgement free environment. Why Pole Fitness?

 

Why pole fitness? My only question for you is Why NOT? While there is still a stigma that looms over pole fitness, I can assure you that the benefits will amaze you.

 

Imagine a workout that provides flexibility, dance, serious upper body & core strength and best yet, FUN! Pole fitness has evolved into a form of exercise practiced by not only recognized pole athletes and performers, but by students, moms, gym-goers and working professionals. The industry of pole fitness in some ways parallels that of yoga, dance and gymnastics. A pole fitness class can include dance and flexibility or it can be purely athletic. Either route is beneficial to both mind and body for the student.

While beginner classes don’t require extreme upper body strength, over the course of time, pole dancing will vastly improve arm & core strength as well as balance. It will help you lose fat and can tone almost every muscle in the body.

 

Pole fitness has the ability to improve muscle tone & strength, coordination, balance and as an added bonus, confidence! Pole fitness creates body awareness in a body positive, judgment free zone that empowers women through the art of dance.

 

At Stilettos & Steel Fitness we encourage every woman to find their own "strong and sexy", this is your opportunity to create your own journey. After all, “a comfort zone is a beautiful place, but nothing ever grows there.”

 

 

 

FAQ

Whether pole fitness is new to you or you are a seasoned poler, rest assured we'll help you every step of the way.

No matter what class you are attending, most importantly, dress comfortably. If you are attending a pole fitness class, layers and short shorts are recommended. If you are attending a burlesque class, wear whatever makes you feel confident and sexy that also allows you to dance and move freely. Remember, this is a judgement free zone. Please do not wear any lotions on your hands or body. Jewelry is also discouraged. For the majority of classes we work out in bare feet, but you may opt to wear heels if desired. Please also bring a yoga mat to class with you, as they will not be provided.

 

 

Do I have to wear heels to class?

Absolutely not! For the most part we work in bare feet, but should we do an activity in heels, they are always optional, never required!

 

Do you share poles?

Occassionally poles are shared, with a max of 2 people per pole. Rest assured you will still receive the same amount of practice and training.

 

How many students are in a class?

There are only 5-10 students allowed per class. This allows our instructors to ensure your needs are met as well as your safety.

 

Is there an age requirement?

We do require all women to be 18 years or older to participate in classes.

 

Can I visit a class prior to registering?

While we do not allow any spectators or visitors during class, we do offer a one time intro class for $25 that can be attended to try out a class before purchasing a session or membership.

 

I am a plus size vixen, can I still take classes?

Absolutely! Our classes are appropriate for women of all shapes and sizes. This is your journey and your opportunity to find your passion and meet your own goals. All moves can be modified to be made easier or more challenging as necessary.

 

Is pole fitness right for me?

Are you a mother, sister, wife, professional or student? Are you looking to get in great shape, find new confidence or just try something new? Do you love to meet new women or feel inspired?
