Candice Tess - Owner/ Pole Instructor

Stilettos & Steel started as a dream to find myself as well as help other women, all while finding work in the fitness industry.

I am a busy mother of 3 who has dedicated the last few years to raising my children, but I was beginning to feel the need to also take care of myself. I've always possessed a passion for the fitness industry and wanted to pursue it. Pole fitness has allowed me an outlet to grow, feel sexy and meet many amazing new people.

I fell in love with everything about pole fitness, from the sisterhood to the strength, the confidence to the beauty, it was the best workout I'd ever experienced. I knew I needed to share my experience with other women so

I began training and wanted to learn as much as could. I currently continue to train and perfect my own skills, attending workshops, traveling to other studios and competitions and hosting guest instructors at Stilettos & Steel.

I have earned my certification as an advanced level instructor through the Pole Fitness Alliance, in addition to being certified through Aerius Spin Pole, Level 2  certified in Aerial fabric pole and an ACE certified Personal Trainer. Additionally, I am CPR certified and hold a Bachelors in Business and an Associates in Kinesiology.

I can't wait to share my knowledge, as well as learn from all of the amazing women that I know are going to walk through the doors of Stilettos & Steel Fitness.

Welcome, I can't wait to join you on your adventure!

Molly - Certified Pole Instructor

As someone who was always involved with organized sports, I felt I needed to get involved with something after graduating from college that would nurture the partnership of staying in shape while learning and developing a skill. Classes at the studio have added so much in terms of giving me a healthy outlet to escape everyday life stresses.

I have always had a passion for empowering women- Stilettos and Steel is the center of helping women stay active, gain confidence through feeling healthy, sexy and strong. I am so excited to be instructing courses and helping women reach whatever goals they may have for themselves!

Molly teaches conditioning, hip hop pole and beginner 2

Whitney McFadden - Instructor

I am so excited to be teaching burlesque-style Sexy Sweat, contemporary dance, and flexibility classes at Stilettos & Steel Fitness, as dance is my lifelong passion. I began taking dance classes at the age of three and continued into my twenties, taking a break only to start my family. I am trained in ballet, jazz, tap, modern, acrobatics, hip hop, lyrical and burlesque dance. I began teaching classes in several styles when I turned 18, my students' ages ranging from three to adult. I have taught for Rising Star Studio of Dance Arts, Delta Township Recreation, as well as for several private groups. I have trained with numerous instructors, choreographers, and Broadway dance captains and I can't wait to share my passion for dance with you!

Amy (Shahira) - Bellydance Instructor

Amy (Shahira) has been studying dance and gymnastics from a very young age. She has studied acrobatics, tap, jazz and Cecchetti-style ballet. Amy graduated from Central Michigan University and moved to Lansing. She began taking Middle Eastern Dance classes and became hooked immediately. Amy has been teaching bellydance for the past 8 years.
She is also a certified BodyFlow, BodyStep, BodyCombat & BodyPump Instructor through the Les Mills program. Amy currently teaches belly dance and fitness classes in Lansing and Jackson, MI.

Mallory R- Certified Lyra Instructor

Where do I even start with this wonderful sport? I started my journey almost three years ago coming off a mysterious illness. The medications caused me to gain weight and as someone that has always been active I lost all my self confidence. Then I found Stilettos & Steel. I took an intro class, by myself and once I saw Candice dancing at the end I was hooked. I just kept coming. I started getting stronger and have lost over 50 lbs. I became more focused on what my body could do and felt like, rather than how I felt. I pushed myself in this mindspace and competed in my first competition in December of 2017.

I'm finishing up the assessment portion of my certification for Lyra (Aerial Hoop) and have fallen in love with it for its similarities to pole but also it's differences. I look forward to sharing these activities with others in hopes they enjoy them as much as I do and continuing my own exploration of the aerial arts.
